Customer Question

We have a 10 year old whirlpool refrigerator, model GX5FHDXVQ00. Refrigerator is not cooling again, freezer is fine. The refrigerator stopped cooling about 3 weeks ago. Replaced the thermistor and all was fine for 2 weeks. Problem is back - any advise?

No air flow to the fridge compartment is the problem. Is there any frost on the back wall of the freezer? Is the freezer fan running? Is the air damper open in the fridge- take the cover off and see. Answer all questions when replying.

This is not defrosting. See if you have continuity thru the defrost heater as well as the defrost thermostat. The parts are easily seen and be sure to disconnect the wires so you make sure that you are only measuring the components. Both items should have continuity- the exact ohms is not at all important. let me know what you find.
