I have a Cabrio top loading washer and I just had the Mother

Customer Question

I have a Cabrio top loading washer and I just had the Mother board and water valve changed to the tune of $437 and now the machine is constantly saying UL and stopping. My repairman said it would not be worth fixing and I have invested a lot of money and would like your opinion on fixing it. What do you think could be broken now?

The UL error code is indicating that the machine is sensing and (U)nba(L)anced load.

May I ask why the other parts were replaced? Was it for this same error?

No. One of the starter buttons stopped working and the tech. told me the mother board needed replacing and the water level was low also so he changed water valve and UL started after it was repaired.

Are you there???

If the UL error is coming on without any clothes being in the washer, the most likely problem is the damper rods that the tub hangs on, are the old style . There has been kit to replace the old ones. I couldnt tell you why it would happen just after replace the CPU. Thats why I asked about it.

Here is a video of replacing the rods. You will need part number W10189077

It is a pretty simple job and if you are handy, it should be a breeze.
