We just bought a house and I am trying to clean an old Maytag

Customer Question

We just bought a house and I am trying to clean an old Maytag dishwasher. Model DWU9200AAX. It was not taken care of and it is FULL of crud. I have most of the lower assembly off but I'm stuck. Part #12 the 910654 SCREW, IMPELLER Note: SCREW, IMPELLER. It will loosen, but not come off.

Hello from JA My name is Woody. I will be glad to assist you today. I have been servicing ALL Major Brands of Appliances for 34 Years, and have over 100,000 in home repairs and over 60,000 phone and internet repairs under my belt.and part #12 does not tell me a lot .I `m assuming that you have a parts break down up and are looking at the pump /motor image !! and #12 is to hold the wash impeller on the motor shaft the shaft gets crude up under it and at times the impeller will have to be broken (I use a chisel and split it in two to get it off then the crude will need to be cleaned off .and I have even seen the motor shaft get rusty and swell up so that the impeller has to be split off also .If you have ant questions just replay back to me.
