Customer Question

I bought a oven with 4 connections in the back. The salesperson sold me a cord with only 3 connections, no green for the ground. I connected all 3 and the oven works. Is my oven safe? Is it grounded? Matt gricar

You're supposed to run a ground strap from the chassis to the center neutral terminal so that you ground out your oven since you don't have a 4 wire power cord. It will work without it, but for safety reasons you should install one. Attached is a picture of what I'm talking about. It doesn't have to be a "strap" it can just be a wire if needed.
