I have a Maytag dishwasher that is not draining all the way

Customer Question

I have a Maytag dishwasher that is not draining all the way all the time. It's getting stinky. Is there any valve or plug the drain or something that I might need to clean out to get this to drain?

Thanks for counting on us to help with your appliance problem. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you! The most common cause of poor drainage is a plugged fitting where the drain hose connects to the home's plumbing. Can you remove the drain hose (usually under the sink) and see if that connection is clear or plugged?
