Hello, this is Dave. The TR18 uses R134a. This should be on the model/serial tag along with the number of ounces needed.

are you certain that is the right freon this is an older model MFG NO P7859226WL S/N(###) ###-####it says R 12 on it what is the replacement for R12

There must be a letter missing from the model number. I looked it up by model TR18TE. Is there something after the 18? If the serial tag says R12 it would be correct. R414a would be the best replacement but if you can't find any R414b is the next best. R414b is also called HotShot.

Do you still need help? Have you been able to locate the refrigerant?
