Customer Question

whirlpool ref. french door m# ***** ref, compartment not cooling at times fan in bottom freezer is running and not frost buildup in evaporator. When i saw this first time the fan in freezer was running but no air coming into ref. section through damnper. Damper does open and close. What would cause this to be intermittent and can these fan motors be hooked to twelve volt DC to check them ?

Thanks for your question.
Are you certain that no frost is built up on the evaporator coil when it is doing that? You have to have the rear panel off in the freezer to actually check it. The only thing that could cause that issue is either a bad fan or frost build up on the evaporator or in the chute or return vents to the freezer.
