You don't bypass the timer. Just thaw all the frost out with a hair dryer behind the back panel and then it's good for about 2 weeks while you wait for the timer. You can't bypass the timer or it will stick in defrost forever and never cool again.

im sorry I had already been given that answer by an appliance repair answering servise. I only wanted someone to tell me which wires on the controller to connect to allow the defrost heater to do its job. and then I expected to manually reverse the jumper wire. back to the factory connection to allow for the other functions that the timer performs. the girls suggestion was the same as yours for free!
