Customer Question

I have a Whirlpool window Air Conditioner, ACQ249XRO, that will trip the cord mounted GFCI when the compressor starts. Is it possible the starting capacitor is bad? Or is it more likely to be the compressor.

Hello from JA

I will be glad to assist you today.
I have been servicing ALL Major Brands of Appliances for 34 Years,
and have over 100,000 in home repairs and over 60,000 phone and internet repairs under my belt.
With out being able to take an amperage draw of the compressor that is a difficult question to answer.
Can you pull the unit out to get to the compressor terminals ?
And do you have a Volt-Ohm meter to be able to do any testing ,and know how to use the meter?
