We turned off the power to the house and turned it back on and the lights on the fridge worked but the front panel that controls temp and the water is dead. The fridge is a GE GHS 22JFTA

Pull the toe kick off the bottom front. Check the wiring going into the freezer door. I've seen the wires cause this issue on these units. If the wires are good, the control is bad. It's the only other thing that would cause this issue.
