Customer Question

I have a JBP23DN1BB electric range and was just going to change the bulb in the oven when I pulled out the oven light and it touched the metal and I heard a loud boom and now my range burners work, but my panel for the oven wont come on

Hello from JA
My name is Woody.
I will be glad to assist you today.
I have been servicing ALL Major Brands of Appliances for 34 Years,
and have over 100,000 in home repairs and over 60,000 phone and internet repairs under my belt.
I would have to suspect that you blow the control board for the oven functions.
Are you able to pull the oven out remove the upper rear inspection cover?
and do you have a Volt-ohm meter and know how to use it?

yes what do we check

hello?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
excuse me I paid for a service here.......

And sorry for the delay ,I have several customers at the same time ,Saturday!!
YOu will need to test for voltage to the control board on L1 and N looking for 120 volts A/C if you have voltage it is a failed control board .
if you do not have voltage then you will need to remove the lower rear inspection panel and look for any burnt or broken wires on the terminal block where the cord attaches to the unit.
Let me know what you find .
I can give you part numbers if you do have a failed control board.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I touch L1 and N and I get 124 volts
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.
ok and just to be sure the display on the control /clock is blank correct?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
yes its like there is no power to the front display but the burners still work
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 2 years ago.
ok so you have voltage to it ,it is just not giving any display or working .
you will have to replace the control .
