I have a Samsung DV316BGW/XAA dryer and it won't run. The control panel lights up and I can switch all the settings and even engage/dis-engage the child lock. However, when I push the start button it will not start. I actually had a tech come it to check it out and they determined it was the control board. They wanted over $300 just to fix it. So I replaced the board myself (with no trouble) but the machine is still doing the same thing. The belt is good, the drum turns freely and the door switch seems to be operating fine. Any suggestions.

Have you tested the thermal fuse on the blower housing? It is item 23 in the diagram below.

No I have not.

If this fuse is no good, then the unit will not start, it usually goes bad when the vent to the outside gets clogged or restricted, also sometimes overloading the dryer will cause it to blow. If it is bad you can order the replacement by clicking on the blue link below

Click here for the correct part for your unit.

Repair Clinic offers a 365 day no question ask return policy, so if the repair does not work you can return the part to them for a full refund, yes this even includes electronic parts that many other part suppliers will not allow to be returned.

In addition to the control board, their is a board on the front panel which has all the LED's and Start Knob. Is it at all possible that this board or just the start/pause knob is bad? I'd hate to wait on the thermal fuse and then find out it's not that either. I'm sure you understand how quickly laundry piles up in a household of 5.

You can test the thermal fuse by jumping it out, and if it starts then you need to replace it
