I have a GE Refrigerator, Model GSH22JFXA. 5 years old. Last Feb the refrigerator starts to get warm every week. Freezer works fine. I worked with an online technician and have replaced both the Defrost Heater Assembly and Defrost Thermostat. Probably continues and now it has to be manually desfrosted every 3-4 days. Any ideas on what next?
Thanks for counting on us to help with your appliance problem. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I look forward to helping you! How long ago were those parts replaced? Did it work initially and now not?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

both replaced around march of 2013. Neither has really solved the problem.

Okay, do you have a meter to test resistance with?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

My son does. He is not in right now, but will be home later tonight. What do you suggest?

Well, the heater is new, the thermostat is as well, although they never fail. So, that leaves the defrost thermistor and the board. The thermistor can be easily tested with a meter or replaced, as it is very inexpensive. Would you like a link to that part or test instructions?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

yes thank you

The thermistor is mounted to the top of the evaporator coil, in the upper LH corner. It has two wires that can be connected either way, so it is very easy to replace. That thermistor is pictured and available below.
