Thanks for counting on us to help with your appliance problem. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I look forward to helping you! Is it agitating or is the tub spinning as in the drain mode?

spinning as in the drain mode

And the timer is set to a fill setting? what happens if you start on a spin cycle, does it still spin?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

the timer is set to a fill setting at the beginning of a regular wash cycle and it doesn't do anything but spin the basket and no matter what the temperature of water that is selected no water gets allowed into the tub ??

I'm not at the machine but I do believe her mother set it forward on a spin cycle and it did spin.

Okay, so the timer is likely at fault. If it was the pressure switch it would agitate, not spin. I would recommend replacing the timer, pictured and available below.

so Kelly at this point could I say that when it is started at the beginning of a regular wash cycle and I select warm water lets say. I pull the timer knob out then no water comes out at all and the basket starts spinning that would be bad timer correct. Then if it just agitated whenstarted and no water that would mean it was the level switch ?

That is correct. I suspect the timer has a set of contacts that initiate spin that have become welded together.
