nothing happens?

Okay does it make a beep at all when you press the button in ? you are holding it in for 5 seconds correct ?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
No beep! If I touch the off button it will beep but nothing else. Yes, I tried it 3 times
okay, that may be bad. this is out of the user manual and it basically says the same.

When pressing any control pad function on the Electronic Oven

Control, use the pad of your finger to press the desired function.

Hold down the pad a few seconds, or until the desired function

appears in the display.

When entering multiple functions within one setting, pause briefly

between each control pad command. If a command pad is

pressed several times repeatedly, the pad may briefly stop

working. Wait a few seconds, and the pad should function again

as normal.

Style

I Electronic Oven Control

When the oven is in use, this display shows the oven

temperature, heat source(s) and start time. During Timed

Cooking, this display also shows a timed countdown and the

stop time (if entered).

If 3 beeps sound, an invalid pad was pressed. Press OFF and

retry your entry. When the oven is not in use, only the time of day

is shown on the display.

Styles 2 and 3 Electronic Oven Controls

When the oven is in use, this display shows the oven

temperature. During Timed Cooking, this display also shows a

timed countdown.

If 3 beeps sound, an invalid pad was pressed. Press OFF and

retry your entry. When the oven is not in use, only the time of day

is shown on the display.

The START pad begins any oven function except the Timer,

Control Lock and Sabbath Mode. If not pressed within 5 seconds

after pressing a pad, "START?" will appear on the oven display as

a reminder. If not pressed within 5 minutes after pressing a pad,

the oven display will return to inactive mode (time of day) and the

programmed function will be canceled.

The Control

Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent

unintended use of the oven. The Control Lock is preset unlocked,

but can be locked.

When the control is locked, only the TIMER SET/START, TIMER

OFE CLOCK SET/START and OVEN LIGHT pads will function. On

models with electronic oven control Style 1, the time of day and

the timer can be set.

To Lock/Unlock Control:

Before locking, make sure the oven,

the Timer and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold the START

pad for 5 seconds until "LOC" or "CONTROL LOCKED" appears

on the display. Repeat to unlock and remove "LOC" or

"CONTROL LOCKED" from the display.

The OFF pad stops any oven function except for the Clock, Timer

and Control Lock.

,!:,

This is a 12-hour clock.

1. Press CLOCK SET/START.

2. Press number pads to set time of day.

3. Press CLOCK SET/START

yours is style three. correct ?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

yes, this style

okay and none of the things worked to unlock it?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

nothing worked

Okay that's the worst news unfortunately. the control has failed, I got all that info right out of the repair manual and all that's left is to replace the control. its not responding. This is the hardest part of my job giving nice people bad news I'm sorry, here a link where you can order the control, http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/9756547/0022/664?pathTaken=directMatch&filterPart=&pop=flush&prst=0&shdPart=9756547 its not very hard to replace you just have to pull the range out and take the back panel off. there are 4 screws holding the clock / control and it just unplugs, sorry I had to tell you that, have a great night and thanks, Bryan
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

will do! thank you

okay thanks, have a great night, Bryan
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Bryan, the new controler did not help. The buttons on the panel still do not work.

do they beep at all when you press them ? (keys)
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Only the stop button. It did this before. None of the other buttons make any sound or affect the digital readout. It simply shows the time and does not change.

Wow that's not good, I found that info in the tech sheets and they said control. that's right from the factory. it must be a touch pad issue. it cant be contacting. usually though not all the keys go out when these fail so thats a little strange. is the clock returnable ?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Yes, the control is returnable, if that is what you meant. Should I order the panel? Information?

yeah at this point I would replace the keypad. Sorry about that, I pulled that like I said right from Kitchen aids tech sheets. heres a link to order the touch pad. Touchpad part number 9762097, I feel bad , there are only two things that could cause that issue. figures that couldn't be more clear. thanks and best wishes, Bryan
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Touch pad ordered. I will let you know next week! Thank you

okay thanks, have a great holiday weekend ! Bryan
