Our Whirlpool frontloader wont start. When you press the start

Customer Question

Our Whirlpool frontloader won't start. When you press the start button the pump is activated, but no water goes into the machine and the pause and door open lights keep flashing. We have tried turning the machine off and back on again and made sure the water taps are open. Lights just keep flashing.

Thanks for using this service. Please be logged in to rate my assistance when we are done. Rating 3-5 is good, but 1-2 is bad so talk with me first.

From what you have described it sounds like a door latch issue. The unit is not seeing the door latched. Check the door actuator peg on the door. Make sure it is not broken off. Second you may have a bad door latch. The latched often break and then the board does not see the door closed hence the issue you have. You would then need to replace the door latch assembly to get it repaired.

The door is latching correctly.

Ok does the unit fill with water at all?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

No, it doesn't fill with water, just goes to pause and door light flashes

So the pump just runs, but nothing else correct?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

That is correct. It pumps as normal, but won't fill with water.

Often worn motor brushes cause the issue, so the motor does not turn. Thus registers as an error and flashes the code you are getting on that machine. You should check and replace the brushes on the motor or replace the motor itself.
