repairguy :

My name isXXXXX will assist you

repairguy :

Have you recently replaced the garbage disposal

Customer:

n/a

repairguy :

where does the drain line hook up too?

Customer:

sink

repairguy :

Not to drain lines it is just looped into the sink?

Customer:

yes to drain its clear of clogs

repairguy :

Then if you are sure you hear the drain motor operating, you have a defective drain motor,

repairguy :

Most likely the impeller is just spinning freely

Customer:

no impeller is not spinning freely checked motor seems to run fine

repairguy :

From the drain pump the only thing left is the drain hose and you just told me the drain hose is free of clogs

Customer:

yes correct but hos from pump runs to a box like drain with a piston&nut that has a spring

repairguy :

Acting like a backflow valve?

repairguy :

Can you test with the piston and spring out of the box?

Customer:

I assume so I replaced the valve about 4 months ago it was working and than I have the same problem again

repairguy :

It sounds like a weak spot in the unit. Can you bypass the box and go straight to the drain

Customer:

possibly with the right size hose

repairguy :

I think I would be doing that over replacing the same part 3 times a year

Customer:

yes I think the box drain is the problem

repairguy :

Please let me know how it goes, but I am sure you can bypass the box, just make sure you have a high loop installed on your drain hose so the water can not flow backwards

Customer:

thanks
