What 2013 refrigerator would a appliance repair person recommend. It seems most new refrigerators are about features, not quality - and reports of poor manufacture support. We have a blended family and need a large refrigerator. We have been looking at french door models to five us more refrigerator room (vs freezer room) - but the LG, Samsung, KitchenAid all seem to have problems - with the LG leading in poor customer support. We have a 9 yr old Samsung, with no problems - but today it seems features trump quality. Thank you.
Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

So it really depends on what kind of refrigerator you're looking for as to what I would recommend. Are you looking for a french door refrigerator with a freezer on bottom? A freezer on top with refrigerator on bottom? A built-in refrigerator? A side by side refrigerator?

Every brand will make multiple styles and usually they are not good at every style so it really matters on what you're looking for exactly.

I wrote in detail on the first comment section - guess it didn't go thru. We have a blended family & need a large refrigerator (28cu ft or more) with lots of space in refrigerator section (we have a separate freezer). We just sold our house with a 9 yr old Samsung & were happy with it. But after reading reviews - LG, Samsung, KitchenAid - all seem to have problems these days with poor customer support (especially LG). People write reviews just after purchase - mostly about features & space - not how long they last - but then we did find some 1-2 yrs later saying water leaking into freezer (KitchenAid) - faulty water/ice dispensers (LG & Samsung) or loud operating noise.

OK so if you're looking for a lot of room in the refrigerator, I'd go with a french door model refrigerator. That being said, the best model on the market now is the Kitchen Aid model. They had a lot of leaking problems with both the electronic water valve and the drain line freezing up, but in the last year, they have corrected these issues. I would definitely stay away from the LG, Electrolux, and Samsung units right now as they are going through quite a few issues---especially the Electrolux french door units with icemaker through the door.
