This does indeed sound like a faulty lid switch

Can you access it and test it with a meter?

Can you let me have the full model number as well please?

Hi Rob,

Yes I do require help with this question thanks.

I do not have a meter to test?

The Model No: SWT 704 IPX4

Type: RT 635253

Look forward to hearing further.

Hi Richard

I suspect that this is the lid switch. This detects that the lid is closed and will then start a cycle.

Unfortunately, without a meter you are not able to test this.

This would mean you could try just replacing it and seeing, but this is not ideal.
Alternatively, you really need someone to do a "hands on" diagnosis for you, sorry.
