My icemaker is crushing ice even though I have it on the cube setting. What can I do?

Hi my name isXXXXX have been an appliance repair tech since 1992. Do you have the complete model number? It should be located inside the fresh food compartment cabinet in the upper left corner.

Show the dispenser board and interface.
# XXXXX on the diagram is the main board
# XXXXX is the interface board.

The function on the #38C could not be making up on the main board when pushed for cubed ice. You can gain access by removing the drip tray and the screws on #82.
And the pull the key pad up and out. Check to see if the button it making contact for cubed.

There is also the rear solenoid on page 16, number # XXXXX on diagram.
If this solenoid is open, will not engage to cubed. It may be stuck.

You can use an ohm meter to check it out, just check for resistance on it.

If all parts check ok, replace the main board in the dispenser.
