gas range, removed control knobs for cleaning, ignition began and will not stop even when knobs replaced. Had to unplug the stove. What do I do to restore proper operation of ignition circuit?

Hello, Thank you for using this service, I will be helping you with your problem today

Good afternoon, did you spray any cleaner or water around the control where you took the knobs off ?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Yes, sprayed with 409

okay you have moisture in the switches. there are two things you can do. one take a hair dryer and on medium heat go over all the holes behind the knobs and dry the switches out. this usually works great . or you can just leave this unplugged overnight and let them dry out naturally. either way will work. the switches are very sensitive and will jump click when any moisture gets in them. hope this helps, thanks and best wishes, Bryan

Hair dryer fixed the problem. Thank you, RMJ
