Re: GE Spacemaker Microwave Oven Model HVM1750. The oven

This answer was rated:

Re: GE Spacemaker Microwave Oven Model HVM1750. The oven restarts sometimes after food has been cooked and removed after the door is shut. The oven can only be stopped by reopening the door. This happens even if the programmed cooking time is fully elapsed.

This used to be an occasional rare occurrence but is happening frequently now. What to do?
Hello..It is my Pleasure To Be Working With You Today...The unit is turning on by itself correct ?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Yes. It does not seem to be heating and the turntable doesn't turn - but it sounds like it is running.

Does the interior light come on when this happens..? Also does the display count down when this happens as if the unit is in normal cook mode..?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Interior light comes on. No display count down or otherwise. Also, none of the buttons work (i.e., clear/off or start/pause won't stop the unit).

Only opening the door stops the unit when it has one of these "phantom" starts.

Ok..Thanks for that information .It is great help..From what you are explaining you have a faulty Smart board unfortunately..CLICK HERE FOR PART

Is this a repair (the part replacement) that can be done at home?

It would be best to be completed by a Qualified tech ..As microwaves Store a extreme amount of voltage even when not plugged in..Also keep in mind the condition of the unit compared to repairing. Thanks Bob
