Customer Question

I have a 601f/f freezer and refrigerator. I hate it.
The ice machine is broken again. The last time I had it fixed, it was over a thousand dollars. The tech thinks it is either a piece of paper that clogged it or something else failed, a drain heater. The part alone is $295.00.

I have been unable to defrost the freezer. We have had 3 big parties over the course of a month. I am honestly considering putting in 2 different models.

And now the fridge smells like a mouse died behind it , but only when opened. I just checked, and there is some frost behind the back panel. It's not food related.
I am thinking it's probably freezer related though.

All work to be done by qualified person. WE KEEP GOING UNTIL YOU HAVE THE INFORMATION YOU NEED. I must come and go. Be patient. This is step ONE.

Hello, this sounds llike a bit of a messy problem. The first thing we need to assess is the smell, if it smells like rotted meat, there is no cure... its time to get rid of the refrigerator if thats the case. Rotten meat smell only happens however if the refrigerator is allowed to warm up with meat in it, and only after a few weeks.

So that I suspect the dead mouse smell is more like burnt wiring, from a bad fan motor or ice maker part.. and that is fixable.

You may need to call in a different repair person however if the current one is having all this difficulty...

Let me know, we can go from there.
