Hello, Thank you for using this service, I will be helping you with your problem today

when you change this from cubed to crushed and press for ice do you hear the solenoid in the freezer make a clack noise? this is what switches this from cubed to crushed.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Don't hear anything
okay when you pull your auger out you will see the rod (metal) that runs along the bottom, this slides into a whole in the back of the freezer , thats where the solenoid is. the solenoid is part # XXXXX on this diagram. leave the auger out and push the light switch that controls the lights inside the freezer in and then push for ice. does the solenoid move ?you can see it through the back inside the freezer.

Does not move
okay do you have a multimeter ? you need to know whether its getting voltage or if the solenoid is bad, do you think you could check it for voltage ?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
No we do not have a multimeter
okay, can you stick your finger in where the rod goes and see if the solenoid moves freely with your finger ?

Sorry we called a service man to come fix the ref. Thank You.
okay, sorry, i tried, its just I didn't want to give you bad info and have you order something that you may not need. it could be the solenoid or the dispenser control. have a great day, thanks Bryan
