whirlpool washer model WTW57ESVWO - goes straight to agitate

Resolved Question:

whirlpool washer model WTW57ESVWO - goes straight to agitate as soon as nob is pulled to start cycle. By the time the water is filled in the tub, the cycle is almost done. At end of final spin, starts to fill tub with a little water again (like it is advancing into extra rinse even though not selected) and ends with a gallon or so of water in the tub. Is this probably water sensor problem or electronics for cycle selector?

Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

This is a common failure with these new Whirlpool washers unfortunately. If the unit is less than 1 year old, call warranty. You will need to have the pressure switch sensor replaced inside your control panel because it has failed. Below is a link to the part you'll need to order and replace for this model.

once we have the control panel open, is this a fairly easy part to swap out for someone who is reasonably mechanically inclined?
Expert:  Tyler Z. replied 5 years ago.
Definitely. This repair takes me about 15 minutes or so? The control panel can be tricky so below is a video on how to remove the control panel. Watch at 1:15 to see how your particular panel is removed.
