Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

If you turn the washer to drain and spin, does the washer drain still? Or does it also humm?

Customer: replied 5 years ago.
nothing just hums

ok then you either have a bad motor or a bad pump that is jammed. You'll need to take the outer shell of the washer off and then remove the drain pump to check the blockage. If you find nothing, then the motor itself will need to be replaced. Below is a link to a video that will show you how to access the washer.

If the motor is bad will it cause it to not advance but yet the washer does fill
Expert:  Tyler Z. replied 5 years ago.
yes, the motor can definitely cause that if it's humming. If there is no noise at all then likely you have a bad lid switch which will cut out everything but fill.

to replace the motor I need to tear everything out if the bottom then?
Expert:  Tyler Z. replied 5 years ago.
not really, it's fairly easy. The video shows what's needed, but you just remove the pump and then the 2 brackets going to the motor, then the motor just pulls off.
