Haveto replace a GE JVM1090WW 001, 1996 vintage, over the range

Resolved Question:

Haveto replace a GE JVM1090WW 001, 1996 vintage, over the range microwave/convection oven which vents into the kitchen. Recommendation, please, for a replacement oven unit that should/will fit in the same space (30" wide).

I would go with any GE microwave model for two reasons. One, the bracket on the old one can be used for the new one. This will make installation far easier because you will not have to install a new back bracket. Secondly, GE has an extended parts warranty for the magnetron, whereas no other company does. The magnetron is the part that makes the microwaves, is very common to fail, and very expensive to fix.

Does the microwave/convection oven come with or without the venting apparatus; i.e. can any GE unit that fits in the space be installed or does the enitre system have to be replaced? In your experience,Is it likely the existing wall bracket will match to a new unit of the same or essentially the same dimensions? And does GE still make a microwave/convection oven of essentially the same dimensions (29.5" wide, door hight 11")? If not, what do you suggest?

Any GE microwave can be installed in the space you have. It will fit the venting and the dimensions as far as width will be the same. The height might be a little bigger, but not enough to effect clearances.
