Hi,Welcome to Just Answer, My name is XXXXX XXXXX forward to helping you today. lets get started.

have you spilled any water on the top lately? do you have the model #?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
Could have had water as was cooking corn on the cob. Don't know model. Have had about four years
Expert:  Bryan replied 6 years ago.
okay, most likely if there was water spilled then its made its way inside the cooktop and is causing the ignition module to fire. moister will do that, the model # XXXXX be underneath the unit on the bottom, you can try leaving this unplugged overnight and 75% of the time these will dry out and work properly, try that and let me know in the morning if it stops. if it doesnt get me the model # XXXXX we can continue from there, thanks Bryan
