my clothes washer snaps the breaker after it fills up

Hi I'm John I will help you with the problem.

can you hear a hum before it kicks the breaker off ?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
No hum

It could be a timer problem you can open that timer by sliding the metal shield to look at the contacts if the contacts are burnt replace the timer.

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
The contacts look good
Turn the timer to the spin cycle does it pump the water out ?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
now it does nothing at all
I have power to the unit
the breaker is fine
but it will not even start the fill fill

If it wont even fill i would think the timer is the problem but I cant be sure of that .

You should call in a service tech on this one .

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I slipped a plastic piece on the back of the timer to the center position and
ectrical problem seems to be fixed
However there is water leaking from the bottom of the drum on to the gearbox and belt causing the dell to slip and not agitate correctly

Glad thats fixed as far as the leak the tub seal kit has to be replaced, heres the part required and some instructions on how to replace the seals.

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
After checking prices on craigslist I found a slightly used model 4 150 it seems like between the shipping and the price of the parts I would be better off replacing the unit not knowing my skill level 4 replacing the tub seal unit. With my mechanical ability it would probably leak after a 4-6 hour effort.

do you think this is a wise decision 4 a comparable unit ?

I want to thank you for your effort and also pay you - even if for helping me to confirm my unit as dead

I would get rid of that washer it wasn't very good to start off with and buy a sears Kenmore or a whirlpool their easy to repair not like yours.

And you can do the repairs yourself .
