Frigidaire dishwasher model FDB1100RHB2 Will fill up with

Resolved Question:

Frigidaire dishwasher model FDB1100RHB2
Will fill up with water but not all the way up to heating element, it will not wash the dishes but will drain. You can hear the control panel ticking down going thru the cycle but nothing happens between filling and draining. I checked the float for any obstructions and to see if it moved freely, it did and no obstructions. I also started the dishwasher and after it filled( not to heat element) I added more water to see if it would take off and wash with the added water. didn't work and I couldn't hear the motor try to run! But you can hear the motor fine while drain. My understanding is the motor turns one way to wash and reverses for draining? I know any thing is possible but can the motor be bad for just the washing and not the draining? Or would/should it be bad for wash and drain? My wife said it popped a breaker the other day and that's when the problem started, I have not been able to get it to do it again, it's on a dedicated circuit so I don't see electrical being a issue but anything is possible.

I have also checked the water valve for any blockage, looked good.

I guess what is blowing my mind, is the water level in the beginning of the cycle not filling to the correct level, I can see that causing it not to wash the dishes but then after trying to fill the tub manually it still not doing anything. You reckon that the motor/pump burned up/locked up and popped the breaker due to no water when this issue first happened? As far as I know this was a all of a sudden deal, no problem with the dishes getting clean up to the point of the breaker episode.

Where do I start and sorry if I've blown your mind on info overload. Thanks so much for any help/direction you can give.

Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

The water on this unit is only supposed to fill up so that it's tuching the mounting brackets on the heater. The water doesn't touch the edges of the tub or the element itself on this model.

So it would appear that I'm getting enough water, so why isn't it washing my dishes. You think the pump motor assmebly is bad, the dishwasher popped the breaker the other day but I don't understand why the motor is still draining tub at the end of the cycle.

That is correct, your circulation motor has just gone bad and will need to be replaced. There are 2 separate motors on this model, a circulation motor and a drain pump motor. You'll need to replace the circulation motor. Below is a link to the pump you'll need to order and replace---quite a common issue on these Frigidaire dishwashers.
