What is the make and model number of the ice machine? Where is the water coming from?

Is it coming from the water reservoir ?

If it is, you could have a broken water inlet solenoid valve. It is letting water in even though there is no power to the coil.

Just replace the water inlet solenoid valve.

But to be sure, you would need a volt meter to measure the voltage accross the coil. If there is voltage, then the controlle would be the problem and not the solenoid valve.

But if there is no voltage present, then definitely it is the solenoid valve which is defective.
