Resolved Question:

On a Maytag E2L wringer washer what is supposed to hold the agitator onto the splined shaft? We use one at our fire station for our chamois cleaning but now the agitator comes up off the shaft after only a few turns. I replaced the rubber stop on the shaft as the old one was hard thinking it was a friction fit but that didn't work either. Anybody have an answer?

You will need a 7/16 bolt that bolts down into the shaft.

from where? there's no hole on top of the agitator and nothing on the side. How would you get a bolt in there? There's no threads tapped into the to of the shaft.
