Okay so when you push the knob in it won't spin the dial around the outside of the knob correct?

Okay this is a common problem on these, you will need to replace the knob,the teeth outstripped you can see the teeth in this picture, this is not expensive it's $4.35 @ link and if you look carefully you will see a small white clip just a the left of the teeth you need to pull that clip out to remove the knob, this is what the clip looks like, thanks and well wishes, Bryan

Well the only other thing it can be then would be the timer itself, you will need to replace it unfortunately, usually it is the knob, you didn't mention that you are replace that do one thing before replacing the timer, check and make sure the timer is tight up against the body you will need to take the for screws along the top out and tip the control panel down, check and see if the timer has broken loose it is plastic and I have seen these break loose so when you push in on the knob the timer actually moves in and you can't get to teeth to connect, if all is good with that would need to replace the timer, thanks and well wishes, Bryan
