Hello,
I have a GE refrigerator Model: GSH25JFTA BB and SN: DM210766.
My problem is with the ice maker.
Ice left in a glass to melt lets flake like material in the glass. The water is ok.
Can you help me with this problem.

Hello, and thank you for using this service. I'll be helping you with your problem today.

Because of the flakes, it sounds like you need a new icemaker, but you'll want to check just to be sure. Just remove the icemaker and melt all the ice in the icemaker mold. If the teflon inside the mold is chipping, then you need to replace the icemaker and the cost is about $100. The icemaker part number is XXXXX that you'd need to order.

I removed the ice tray, emptied the tray of ice, washed the tray, and melted the ice in the mold.

I already did the things the technician told me to do and I told him up front in my original message what I did.
I believe your technician should have told me I did the correct thing and not bill me.
However, I will accept, but will never use this service again!
