Hi, this is Russ, I'll be helping you with your problem today. THANKS! I am not exactly sure what you want, but the extremes,anytemp setting takes 12 to 20 hours to take effect. THE ONLY WAY TO SET THIS IS MOVE THE DIAL TO THE WARMER OR COLDER SETTING AS DESIRED,AND WAIT 12 TO 24HOURS USING A THERMOMETER INSIDE THE REFRIG OR FREEZER THEN OPEN THE DOOR AND CHECK TEMP IN THE REFRIG. always put the thermometer in same place in the unit.

The dial for the frig temperature goes clockwise from 1 to 5, with an arrow to the right of it pointing to the right that says "Colder". If I dial it to the full clockwise position, it is on "5". Same for the freezer, only the dial goes from A to C, clockwise, with an arrow to the right of it pointing right that says "Colder".
Customer :
I noticed the temperature in the frig at 53 degrees and the freezer at 18 degrees. (A week ago, when I had an appliance guy look at it, he opined that "5" and "A" were NOT the coldest settings.
Customer :
I need to know which is the coldest setting: 1 or 5; A or C. Then I can wait the 12 - 24 hours to check on it.

5 and c are coldest put a thermometer dead center in borh and the wait begins
Customer :
OK--will do 5 and C and wait 12 - 24 hours. If OK, will Accept. If not, we can try to troubleshoot some more. (I noticed you were the guy who helped me with my washing machine in April -- and your response worked!) Will let you know this time tomorrow.
