When trying to replace the heating element, does it just slide

When trying to replace the heating element, does it just slide out or do I need to take the whole shield out?

on this the element will slide out of the tube, there is a 1/4" screw in the middle right between the two wires in the front, you will need a ratchet with a 1/4" socket on it to remove it, then remove the wires and pull the element straight out, sometimes these are tight and don't come out easy , heres a diagram, the element is part # XXXXX , remove the front cover # XXXXX and then screw # XXXXX to get the element out.the screw is in the middle of the ceramic part in this picture, thanks Bryan
