Customer Question

After cleaning my cloths quite nicely, I was surprised to hear what sounded like water sloshing around under the drum of my Maytag Neptune. I was concerned but my daughter said the washer has always made that sloshing sound when you rotate the drum and that was normal. Is that so?

Tim Alan :

Hi my name isXXXXX can help you with your issue. Very common question by the way.

Tim Alan :

The sloshing your hearing is liquid inside the balance ring. You should hear that sloshing, if you don't then you have a problem.

Tim Alan :

It helps balance the load during the spin cycle.

JACUSTOMER-18jouaag- :

Oh, funny. Did it say that in the manual? My bought the machine 5 years ago and I don't know where she put the manual

Tim Alan :

I've had customers say the same thing about a ten year old machine.

JACUSTOMER-18jouaag- :

You have solved the mystery. If I don't hear the slosh, then do I have to call Maytag repair and how should I label the problem?

Tim Alan :

The manual makes a brief statement in fine print hard to catch.

Tim Alan :

The unit would be bouncing all over the room and vibrating terribly

JACUSTOMER-18jouaag- :

Does that happen after so many years?

Tim Alan :

Don't forget to press the accept button and leave a comment, Not usually but I have run into a few that have leaked the fluid. Don't worry it's not a high failure issue.

JACUSTOMER-18jouaag- :

Good to know. Thanks.

Tim Alan :

Your welcome have a good night, and thank you.
