The ice maker suddenly stopped making ice yesterday -- no water runs
Can we fix this ourselves or how do we locate a technician for this?

Hi, my name is Peter.

Peter :

There should be a small black button on the bottom of the icemaker module (the square box on the end of the icemaker). Push this button and hold. Does the tray start to turn over?

Now it's refilling the ice tray with water. It is recycling. Was it just "stuck" and that's all it needed?

Is there a white wire hanging down from the module (approx. 6 inches long)?

There are no loose wires hanging down. There is a bundle of wires attached to the left side of the ice maker.

Peter :

It was possibly stuck. If it starts to make ice then you are set. If it does not make ice then the sensor that detects if the ice is frozen (thermister) is defective and you have to replace the icemaker assembly (it is attached to the module and you cannot purchase separately).
