My Laundry washer makes a loud vibrating noise when on agitating cycle but not on the spin cycle. What could be causing this? It is not hitting on anything, the noise seems to be coming out of the motor itself.

do you have a model number so that I can better answer this question? And is it a continuous loud vibrating or does it start and stop when it's agitating?

if the noise is normal on spin but not agitate, this can only be a bad transmission on this unit. The motor just changes directions and the transmission should change the action of what the tub and agitator does. If it's getting noisier during the agitation cycle, you'll need to replace the transmission if you wanted to fix the problem.
