Model KitchenAid KSRB27FHSS02 ICE MAKER JAMMING Ice build

Resolved Question:

Model: KitchenAid KSRB27FHSS02

Ice build up on ice maker ejector arm causing ice maker to jam. After I remove the jamming ice build up, the ice maker will work for one or two cycles until it jams again. The water supply line is fine & flows good. The jamming area is between the mold and ejector arm

Will a new ice maker resolve his problem?

if theres no water dripping after it fills yes a new ice maker is the way to go, make sure after the ice maker fills there is no drops of water comming down the fill tube and freezing the fingers, if there is none replace the ice maker and it should be fine, also make sure the ice dispenser door flap is closing tightly, this can cause outside moist air to freeze up on the ice maker also, hope this helps, thanks Bryan

Checked the flapper on door.......closes fine

The ice build up is on the fingers.

There appears to be no drips from fill tube ...if there was what next?

its over filling , the ice maker is probably turning to slow(motor getting weak) these are time fill as the fingers go around the contacts open the valve and then once it gets pass the fill it closes the valve, if its running slow more water will come in freezing the fingers, replacing the ice maker will fix it, thanks Bryan
