I have a model 17 that has stuck in the on position and had to be unplugged. I understand it may be as easy as cleaning the switch rod....can you confirm and tell me abit about how to do that, please?

at the top of the disposer there is a switch that screws in the side of the unit, there is usually a silver plate over it, this is the switch assembly , Part 820740 unscrew it counter clockwise and pull it out, take HQ contact cleaner and spray the switch real good while pushing it in and out to loosen it up. if the doesn't work you can order this @ thanks Bryan
