Resolved Question:

We have an older model Magic Chef oven. Tonight when we turned on the oven, the glow bar ignition lit, but it didn't ignite the oven burners. What is the solution to fix this and does it present any current danger? How do we go about fixing it? Please answer as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Hi Tom ...There is not a pilot to light..Are you able to light the broiler...? Also can you locate a model number...? Normally if your oven has two separate igniter's...One for the broiler and one for the bake...ANd the broiler does light then replace your bake igniter...It maybe glowing...But it is not throwing out enough voltage to open the gas valve ....

I wasn't able to find a model number and we're not able to light the broiler. Is it difficult to replace the igniter? Also, we're particularly worried about safety. Is there any danger in the current situation?

No danger ...Specially since you cannot even get it to light...Did you recently use the self clean mode....? The model number should be on a model number tag located on the frame of the oven behind the bottom drawer...Pull the drawer out ...You should see the tag at that location on the frame
