i own a whirpool front loading washing machine and i am having odor and draining problems with it. do you know if there was a recall on model number ghw9150pw4
Hello and thanks for your question. There is no recall on this model but it sounds like you have something stuck in the large item filter. It is behind the bottom panel. The panel is held on with 3 screws down near the floor. The cap on the filter screws off, but you need to be ready to catch the water because all the water left in the tub will come out. There may be something in the filter slowing down the drain and it gets smelly after a while. Always unplug the washer before removing any panels. Please ask any follow up questions you have. Dave

is there any way to access the drain filter from the back panel.
No, it is right behind the front panel. Dave

the reason i am asking for rear panel access is because it is mounted on a pedestal
The pedestal will not prevent removal of the bottom panel. Dave
