I have a built in KitchenAid refrig model # KSSP42QFS05 purchased

Customer Question

I have a built in KitchenAid refrig model # XXXXX purchased in 2000. The freezer is not making ice and is about 20 degrees. A friend said it might be the compressor not drawing enough amps. I tried doing evrything it said in the manual to no avail.
Any help you can give will be appreciated.

You will need to remove the back panel from INSIDE the freezer. You will see a bunch of coils behind it. The coils should all be lightly frosted. If there not you will want to call kitchen aid and have a tech com out. The repair will be covered under warranty.
