What size screws are needed to bolt in a 46 SHARP AQUOS LCD

Customer Question

What size screws are needed to bolt in a 46" SHARP AQUOS LCD tv model number LC-46E77UN. We have a universal TV stand however, my husband stupidly threw out the mounting screws for any size tv bigger than our old 23". We are looking for the right screw size to obtain from our local hardware store. Thank you in advance! :)

2 1/2" long 7/16" hex nut screws are what come with the mounts to mount on your wall if that is the style of mount you are trying to install.

you will need to bring the mount in that attached to the back of your TV and bring it to a hardware store, because not only do you need a correct size screw, you need to have the threads line up which have different pitches that would never be listed. So you'll need to bring in the mount and try several different screws to see if they thread in properly. For reference, this unit normally comes with Alen Wrench screws.

So essentially we need to lug our new tv over to the hardware store with the mount it will be placed on? Just wonderful.

it's definitely the best option but if not you can get about 6 or 7 around the same size and once you figure out the size you can worry about finding which pitch the threads have.
