my GE profile electric convection range made in 2006 Model#

Resolved Question:

my GE profile electric convection range made in 2006 Model# XXXXX has the bake probe lights flashing alternately. When they are flashing the broiler will not work, the warmer will not work and the door will not lock for self clean. It also beeps during this time. If I unplug it , it will work for awhile then after about 3-4 hours it flashes probe-bake, probe-bake and will not work properly

That seems to be the sensor that tells the oven the temperature.

This oven has a probe that plugs into the meat. We bought this oven used. It didn't come with the probe. I am trying to figure out if it is fixable or if the computer panel has to be replaced. In that case I am going to return it to the person I bought it from, because it will be too expensive to fix.

As soon as I plug it in, it flashes Bake - Probe. I have not even pressed the button to activate using the probe. When it is in the condition, the broil, warming drawer, bake and clean functions will not work either.

ok it may be the control, that is expensive, if you feel you don't wont to spend the money I would return it, you shouldn't have to put a lot of money into it, thanks Bryan

unfortunately, neither of your answers has helped me. I am trying to find out what the flashing from bake-probe means. It is in little letters - bake is just above the word warm and probe is next to the work locked. The whole screen is dark and only the two words are lit up red each one going on then off and the other one goes on and off. While this is happening, the broiler, proof and warm buttons will not react. After I plug and unplug the range this goes away for about 4-5 hours then returns. I am looking for an answer to what would cause this. Is it a code of some sort. I found other searchs for this problem on the web, but no answer to the fix.

Thanks, Jim
