My ex husband disabled the fan on my Jenn Air 30" gas cooktop by changing the wiring. Want to use fan anytime needed. Grill module switched to burners. Can I wire the fan so that I can turn it on anytime needed? Now using cast-iron grill on top of 2 burner unit and the smoke needs to go somewhere.

Not sure why he disconnected them - think it was because the fan came on whenever the grill system was used. He did alot of numnut things around the house.

Is the switch behind the black plate? I can disconnect the power, open the plate and re-connect the wires to the switch?
