Resolved Question:

Have Whirlpool Gold refrigerator. No water going to ice maker. Have replaced filter and celanoid control valve assembly in rear of unit. What should be checked next and should ice maker be replaced? If so, how do you remove ice maker?

Are you sure that the icemaker is still cycling?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Yes. Water can be manually added and ice maker will make ice cubes and dump in storage bin.

ok perfect, the the common issue with this unit is that the water line gets frozen inside the ceiling. If you want to confirm, pull the unit out and disconnect the water line that goes up the back of the freezer to the icemaker from the water valve and try to blow through it. If you can't then it's frozen. You can thaw it out by using a hair dryer and thawing the black tube that comes from the ceiling above the icemaker. If it's frozen back too far, unplugging the unit for 24 hours is about the only way to thaw it further back.
