HI! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
WE HAVE A GE GLAS TOP STOVE MODEL #JBP79WY4 WHICH WE PURCHASED ABOUT 4-5 YRS AGO. IT WAS WORKING FINE ON XMAS DAY. NOW THE STOVE TOP WORKS, BROILER WORKS BUT WHEN I TURN THE OVEN ON IT DOESNT GO PAST 230 DEGREES ~ WHEN SET FOR 350 DEGREES. IF I PUT THE BROILER ON HIGH THEN TURN TO OVEN IT SEEMS TO KEEP THE TEMPATURE. COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM. THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE!! Sounds like your oven sensor is bad,...You would ned to test it with a meter...It should read 1000-1100 ohms at room temp....The sesnsor controls the temp in the oven...

HI!

SORRY TO BOTHER YOU ONE MORE TIME...... MY HUSBAND IS LOOKING ~ DOES IT SCREW INTO BACK OF THE OVEN ~ WHEN LOOKING IN IT WOULD BE ON THE LEFT SIDE UPPER SIDE WITH TWO BOLTS/SCREWS. IF SO ~ WHAT WOULD THE PART NUMBER BE???? AND WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO ORDER IT OR GET IT. MY HUSBAND IS MECHANICALLY INCLINED.. THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE.... MARLACool

Remove the two 1/4 inch screws from the inside....If it doesnt pull easilly into oven then you will need to go to the back and remove the panel....There you will see the plastic connector ...Disconnect it at that point....You can purchase the sensor.at this link..If for some reason it does not work they will take the return..Hope this is a sign of your new year getting better...!!!.Thanks Bob
