Hi! I have a Kenmore stove and this is the first oven I've had with a delay start option. I haven't yet been able to figure out just HOW to use the delay start and stop timers! However, that's actually a secondary question. I'm wanting to run the clean cycle, and - can you tell - the previous owners didn't leave a manual. Well, I just am not sure what "set the stop time for 4 hours in advance" means (this is written on the stove "dashboard"). Do I set it to 4:00 or 4 hours in advance of what my stove clock reads? And then what do I set the delay start timer for? I've tried every combination and the clean cycle won't start. I know I just don't have the concept locked in my brain . . . so if you can explain this elementary concept to me, maybe I can get my oven clean! Thank you!
can you get me the model#? thanks Bryan

Thanks! Take your time . . . we're homeschoolers, so I'm jumping back and forth from school to the computer . . .
ok this is a turn style control correct? are there two little dials on one side one say start and one says stop?, they have changed the clock assemblys on these so I cant see your clock but if my memory serves me right that should be the one? we are home schoolers also, how funny.

Yep, two small dials "stop time" and "delay start" beside the larger clock . . . I have been assuming that if I leave the delay start at the same time as the current time, then set stop time 4 hours in advance, that should work. But no dice. I also tried to use them to delay start the oven to cook, and wasn't able to get it to work. Maybe they don't work, but I think it's just operator error. Smile

How many kiddos you have learning at home?

tell me does the clock itself work?

just one child ,she has C P and asperger"s spectrum, so we need to help her a lot more than the school she was in did. she's acually our grandaughter, we are raising her and her sister.

Yep, the clock works fine, and I just actually noticed today, that it looks like the "delay start" dial moves with the clock. It is set to the current time and is following the clock. I don't know if the other dial does that, too, but since I set it to 4 hours in advance it hasn't moved.

Kudos to you and your wife for taking in your granddaughters and giving them the love that will help them flourish!

ok when you turn these do either of them pop out at a certain point?

yeah we love them dearly. thanks

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Nope, haven't had one pop out that I'm aware of. They do say "push in to turn", so I do, but they also turn if I'm not pushing in, until they reset at 12:00 . . . that's where they both pop out.
I cant find your clock assembly, (discontinued) so the new one that replaces it is different, I know one has to be out and the other in and the oven has to be on self clean and the door lock over for self clean. does this go into self clean ?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
OK, I put the door handle all the way to the right and it's locked, I made sure the "delay start" is popped out (on 12:00), the "stop time" is pushed in at 4:00, the oven temp is on clean and the selector is on clean, and nothing's happening. It seems this should be right, as the only other way to set the dials (I guess) is to have them set according to the current time, but then both would be in. Are we down to assuming that the feature just isn't working?
Analog-Digital Oven Clocksdoes your clock look like this?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Nope . . . mine are just the three dials, left to right "stop time", "delay start", and clock -- no flipper-number clock.
ok this is as close as I could find, it sounds like your unit is bad, the replacement one would have to be installed be a tech if you wanted to fix this, the wiring is different, here the new one,
